Prakriti Parikshan — Understanding Your Ayurvedic Constitution

Prakriti Parikshan is the Ayurvedic assessment of an individual's inherent constitution, determined by the proportion of the three doshas—Vata, Pitta, and Kapha—present at birth. This unique combination, known as Prakriti, governs a person’s physical, mental, and emotional traits and remains constant throughout life.

Through careful observation (Darshana), questioning (Prashna), and touch (Sparshana), especially pulse diagnosis (Nadi Pariksha), a trained Ayurvedic practitioner evaluates characteristics such as body frame, digestion, temperament, sleep, and energy patterns.

Prakriti Parikshan helps identify an individual’s natural strengths, susceptibilities, and predisposition to disease, allowing for highly personalized guidance in diet, lifestyle, treatment, and disease prevention. It forms the foundation for all classical Ayurvedic therapies and preventive care.
